BabyChat
Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 17, 2026
BabyChat is operated by Zoidworks LLC ("BabyChat," "we," "us," or "our"). BabyChat helps adult parents and caregivers create, organize, and share baby-care records. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and disclose it, and the choices available to you.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information: your email address, display name, authentication-provider identifiers, and related sign-in information.
- Baby and family information: a baby's name, optional birth date, profile settings, family or caregiver invitations, and records showing who has access to a shared baby profile.
- Baby-care records: feeding, bottles, nursing, pumping, diapers, sleep, growth measurements, medicines, notes, timestamps, and caregiver attribution where applicable.
- Voice, text, and image content: typed Smart Log input, transcribed voice input, selected photos or handwritten notes, questions you ask, and corrections or feedback you provide.
- Purchase information: subscription status, product, transaction, and purchase-history information supplied by RevenueCat, Apple, or Google. BabyChat does not directly receive your complete payment-card number from the app stores.
- Support communications: messages, screenshots, and other information you choose to send when requesting support.
Information collected automatically
When you use BabyChat, we and our service providers may receive device and usage information such as IP address, device and operating-system type, app version, language, time zone, device or advertising identifiers when permitted, feature interactions, referral or campaign information, crash information, and diagnostic events. An IP address may indicate an approximate region, but BabyChat does not need precise location to provide its baby-tracking features.
2. How we use information
We use information to:
- create and maintain accounts and authenticate caregivers;
- create, organize, edit, sync, export, and delete baby-care records;
- support invited family members and caregivers;
- provide manual logs, Smart Logs, saved-log questions, and photo parsing;
- provide optional saved-log answers;
- calculate reports, summaries, and trends;
- manage subscriptions and Premium access;
- respond to support requests and troubleshoot problems;
- protect accounts, prevent misuse, and maintain service security;
- understand feature performance and improve BabyChat; and
- measure advertising and referrals using limited device and usage data when applicable and permitted by your device settings.
3. Optional AI processing
When you choose an AI-powered feature, such as Smart Logs, photo-note scanning, or Ask About Logs, BabyChat sends the information needed to fulfill that request to Anthropic, an artificial-intelligence service provider. Depending on the feature, this may include typed text, transcribed voice input, selected images, relevant baby-profile information, saved baby-care records, growth measurements, timestamps, and the question you ask. BabyChat uses the response to prepare structured draft logs or answer questions about saved information.
Before BabyChat first sends your content to Anthropic, the app presents an in-app disclosure and asks you whether you want to enable AI-powered features. AI features are optional. If you decline, you may continue to use manual logging. You may stop using AI-powered features at any time.
Anthropic states that commercial/API inputs and outputs are not used to train its models by default without express permission. Anthropic's API data-retention practices vary by feature; for standard Messages API use, Anthropic states that prompts and outputs are not retained by default, while some features or safety processes may retain limited data. For more information, see Anthropic's API data-retention documentation.
Manual logging does not send the contents of a manual log to Anthropic for AI processing. Information you later include in an optional AI question may be processed as described above.
4. Reports and summaries
BabyChat may use a baby's age and recorded care patterns to create reports, summaries, and trends. These features analyze information already stored with BabyChat and do not require generative AI unless the feature clearly tells you otherwise. Summaries and trends may be incomplete or inaccurate and should be considered alongside the baby's cues and the advice of a qualified healthcare professional.
5. How we disclose information
We disclose information only as needed for the following purposes:
- Supabase: account authentication, database storage, realtime synchronization, and backend application services.
- Anthropic: optional processing for Smart Logs, selected images, and saved-log questions as described above.
- RevenueCat: subscription status, purchase validation, entitlement management, and related analytics.
- Apple and Google: app distribution, purchases, subscription processing, platform security, diagnostics, and applicable attribution services.
- Advertising attribution: if BabyChat enables advertising or attribution measurement, limited device identifiers, campaign information, and product-interaction events may be used to measure whether advertising leads to an installation, account creation, or subscription. Baby-care records and AI feature content are not provided for that purpose.
- People you invite: parents, family members, and other caregivers with valid access may view and add information for the shared baby profile.
- Legal and safety purposes: when reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process, investigate fraud or misuse, protect users or the public, or defend legal rights.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law and appropriate protections.
BabyChat does not sell baby-care or health information. BabyChat does not provide baby-care records, feeding or sleep histories, growth measurements, medicines, submitted photos, voice transcripts, AI prompts, or AI responses to advertising or attribution providers.
6. Advertising attribution and your choices
BabyChat may use limited identifiers and product-interaction events to understand how people discover the app and whether advertising campaigns are effective. On Apple devices, BabyChat requests permission through App Tracking Transparency before engaging in activity Apple defines as tracking. You may decline that request or later change the permission in your device settings. Your choice does not prevent you from using BabyChat's core tracking and manual-logging features.
Your mobile operating system may also offer settings to limit advertising identifiers, reset identifiers, or restrict personalized advertising. Those controls are provided by Apple, Google, and other platform providers.
7. Retention
We retain account, baby-profile, and baby-care information while the account or shared baby profile remains active, unless you delete particular records or request deletion. We may retain limited information for longer when reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, financial recordkeeping, or legal compliance.
Deleted information may remain temporarily in encrypted or access-controlled backups until those backups are overwritten through routine rotation. If you submit content to an AI-powered feature, Anthropic's API data-retention practices may apply as described in Section 3. Attribution, app-store, and purchase providers retain information according to their own policies and the settings BabyChat selects for those services.
Images selected for parsing are used to perform the requested feature. We do not use submitted images for advertising or marketing.
8. Family and caregiver sharing
BabyChat allows parents and caregivers to share access to a baby profile. People with valid invite access may view, add, edit, or otherwise interact with information for that profile according to their permissions. Only invite people you trust.
Deleting an invited caregiver's account does not necessarily delete records associated with a shared baby when another authorized caregiver continues to maintain that shared profile. Contact us if you need help understanding or removing shared information.
9. Your controls and requests
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may be able to:
- review or correct account and baby-profile information;
- edit or delete individual baby-care records;
- request access to or a copy of information associated with your account;
- decline optional AI processing or stop using AI-powered features;
- decline or limit advertising tracking through device controls; and
- delete your account and request deletion of associated information.
You can delete your account through the account or settings area in the BabyChat app. If you cannot access the app, follow the instructions on our Delete Account page or email hello@getbabychat.com from the email address associated with your account. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
10. Security and incident notification
We use administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information, including encrypted network connections, authentication, access controls, and service-provider security features. No system can be guaranteed completely secure. If an incident triggers notification duties under applicable law, we will notify affected people and regulators as required.
11. Children's information
BabyChat is intended for use by adult parents and caregivers and is not directed to children under 13. Adults may provide information about babies and children when using the service. You should only create, access, or share a child's profile when you are the child's parent or guardian or have appropriate permission from the child's parent or guardian. We do not knowingly create accounts for children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
12. United States processing
BabyChat is operated from the United States. If you use the service from another country, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other locations where our service providers operate, subject to applicable legal requirements.
13. Medical and AI disclaimer
BabyChat is a baby-care logging and general informational tool. Reports, summaries, and AI-generated responses may be incomplete or inaccurate and are not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. BabyChat does not replace a pediatrician or other qualified healthcare professional. For medical questions, contact a qualified professional. In an emergency, contact local emergency services immediately.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as BabyChat changes. We will update the date at the top of the policy and, when a change is material, provide additional notice in the app or through another reasonable method. When a material change affects an optional data use that requires consent, we will request consent as required before applying that use.
